There comes a point in one’s life when one needs to recognize when something isn’t working anymore. I’m sad to say that ‘A Woman’s Whimsy’ isn’t working for me in that the other demands of my life that used to be ‘whispers’ are turning into ‘shouts’.

As many of you know, my Mother suffers from dementia and although she’s doing well considering we didn’t think she would see 2011. She did and I now need more flexibility in my schedule to assist her and my Dad when needed.

My hubby is also planning on retiring this year…which means days of golf, weeks of travel and moments to enjoy!

I thank you all for your support over the past year. Wow! Have I met incredible people…many of which have become dear friends.

It certainly was meant to be.

All that being said, I will still continue with my passion of making jewelry. I am setting up a small showroom in my home and would be glad to meet with you by appointment. Just e-mail me at linda@lindalyell.com and we’ll have a cup of coffee or glass of wine and talk about your jewelry needs.

I will also be doing shows and my next one will be Witan in February. I’ll be posting information on my blog as the time gets closer.

Stop by and say hi.

Until then, I bid you “Adieu” and thanks for everything.

Custom Work

As you plan your holiday gift giving, don’t forget about Grandma’s pearls and jewelry sitting in the drawer that you don’t know what to do with.

You can’t wear them as they are but would love to do something with them.

Something more modern and trendy, perhaps?

I can do that!

This morning two sisters walked into my shop with a bag of pearls from their Mother who recently passed away. They wanted matching sets utilizing the pearls. We decided to add turquoise as an accent and salvage the beautiful rhinestone clasps.

I’ll be creating matching necklaces, bracelets and earrings for them.

I’ll share the results when they are done.

Here’s a bracelet and earrings I created for a friend of mine who had coins from her honeymoon in Aruba.

Stirring up some ideas for something special?

Bring in your bag of memories and let’s start creating something magical!

Yes, I have a problem. My name is Linda and I am a soap snob…

The habit began years ago when my sister introduced me to “Luxury” soaps. They were beautiful, colorful, beautifully packaged and sensually fragranced.

I was hooked.

Every since then, Irish Spring or Dial has not touch this body.

The problem was they were very expensive and I would have to drive to Cleveland to get them. I would make my hubby sit outside the store (usually with an ice cream cone) while I plopped down $80 or so easily on a few bars of soap.

I thought I was worth it – and I am.

It’s a grand way to start the day.

The treat in the shower…getting ready to face the day.

Soon it was expensive to support my habit.

I found something better! And it’s made locally!

I met Squeaky Queen.

A very creative young woman with a background in graphic design. A spirit after my own heart.

Her creativity shines in every bar with beautiful packaging and delicate touches that make her soaps visually attractive. Perfect for little gifts!

Several of her soaps have “little surprises” in them…like this “Buried Treasure” soap with a gold coin inbedded in it.

And their fragrances are so unique and curious.

The best part is that her soaps are only $6 each!

Seriously….I’m able to support my habit and have several flavors available depending on my mood that day.

There’s also Beer Soap for the guy in your life. Frothy like a Guiness!

And finally we come to my lip balm addiction. I have lip balms in the car, in my purse, at the store, in the bedroom and in the pockets of all my jeans, coats and jackets. When I can’t find one…I break out into a cold sweat.

Now you’ll see why…check out these flavors!

Peppermint, Maple Custard, Crisp Pear, Honeycomb, Carrot Cake, Harvest Spice and…..

(drum roll please)…..

Chocolate Cream!

They’re heavenly….stop by and grab a few!

You can thank me later!

What’s old is new again!

I just received some real special lovelies made by a local Hudson woman. It amazes me what people come up with by “re-creating” new things from the thrown away.

This woman makes beautiful purses, cell phone holders and scarves from old sweaters!

Quality workmanship done in the classiest colors and combination’s of fabric!

Each is lined with pretty fabrics!

If you love cashmere, you will certainly appreciate the softness of these scarves. What a special gift they would make!

And seriously, how cute are these? Cell phone holders made from old blazers and fabrics?

And a Kindle Kosy….I would have never thought of that!

This one’s my favorite – a cell phone case made from a granny square…

What would granny say?

“Buy me one!”

Enjoy your week and stop by and see me!

Oh Baby!

The cutest things come through this store! Last week sweet Adelaide was in the store with her Mom sporting the biggest flower on her head.

I fell in love! I asked her Mommy about the flower headband and she said she made them.

I had to have them in the store!

And now I do….in a rainbow of colors for your lil’ dumpling!

They make sweet little gifts!

Gems and Stones!

New jewelry arrived this week and I have to give you a sneak peek!

Wonderful pieces made from quality gemstones…

Quality craftsmanship and one a kind designs…

I’m only giving you a preview. You’ll need to stop by and see these lovelies for yourself!

See which one suits your fancy!

You’re sure to fall in love or have fun trying!

See you soon!

I thought I’d share some of my most popular designs – fun little necklaces with some heart and soul behind them.

I have some for those who want to make a statement – like “Crazy” heart…

or for the more subtle message….

There’s “My Heart’s on Fire”…

We have “Hearts and Hoops” to adorn your ears.

Beautiful textured pendants with sterling silver flowers.

They can be worn from a simple black silk ribbon or a rubber cord necklace. I have both available!

“Moon and stars” features a copper stamped pendant and brass “moons”.

A friend of mine always says, “Indeed!” so I made this pendant in her honor.

Indeed!

But wait – here’s the best one…

A beautifully crafted fine silver whistle to hang around your neck. Every woman needs a whistle – read how I use mine.

Indeed!
